Naked Man Arrested After ‘Cannonball’ Plunge Into Bass Pro Shop Aquarium

Bass Pro Shops seem to have everything. Unfortunately, everything means everything. That includes the naked man who was arrested after doing a cannonball plunge into a Bass Pro Shop Aquarium in Alabama.

Police say the man crashed his vehicle outside and then stripped down naked and jumped into the giant aquarium inside the store.

The incident happened in front of shocked shoppers in Leeds, just outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Police say the man did a 'cannonball' jump into the aquarium and then spent some time under the waterfall. According to Associated Press, he temporarily left the water to yell at some police officers before jumping back into the water.

AP reports that the Alabama man eventually climbed over the aquarium and fell onto the hard concrete floor. That's when he was apprehended by police. He now faces several charges including public lewdness, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief, according to The Associated Press.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Man, it would have been wild to see this. If only it was captured on camera!" Well, if that's what you're thinking...I have good news! It was, indeed, captured on camera by onlookers. However, the video is very Not Safe For Work. If you'd like to watch it you can check it out here. Looks like the aquarium is not heated.

That video linked above already has over 8 million views in just two days. It's been a while since I've been inside a Bass Pro Shop. I can't remember if there are any fish in those giant aquariums. Definitely hope there isn't! That's another reason to never jump in without clothes on. The fish might think it's a worm! That would be humiliating.

While committing crimes may seem black and white (you either broke the law or you didn't), there are certainly some crimes that are dumber than others. None of these would accidentally happen. They also aren't a matter of life or death. There's no ethics quiz here, or any matters of 'would you steal bread to support your family?' These crimes, and criminals, aren't straight up cringeworthy.
