People are always looking for a shortcut to looking good. We are willing to try anything and everything in an attempt to make it work. People can be lazy, and you can’t blame them for looking for results right away without having to do too much. Well, there could be good news for those types of people coming soon. Would you take a pill that could replace exercise?
Researchers may have found compounds that appear capable of mimicking the physical boost of working out! Well, at least in rodent cells (for now!).
Would You Take A Pill That Could Replace Exercise?
According to EurekAlert, the project’s principal investigator, Bahaa Elgendy, says, “We cannot replace exercise; exercise is important on all levels. If I can exercise, I should go ahead and get the physical activity. But there are so many cases in which a substitute is needed.”
Basically, what he’s saying is this is designed for people who cannot go out and get the exercise. It’s not intended for lazy people who don’t want to work out and want that immediate fix. However, it doesn’t always end up going that way. Recently, we’ve seen similar things happen with Ozempic. Ozempic is designed for people with diabetes; however, it has been grown popular with celebrities (without diabetes) as a way to lose weight.
Doctors are hoping to replicate the physical and mental effects of working out with this pill. This pill could be greatly beneficial for people who are affected by cancer, genetic conditions, or those who are unable to do physical activity.
Soon, this could be our reality. We’ll be living like space people with pills to fix anything and everything. It’s a weird thought. A pill replacing exercise? Look, I’m lazy but even I don’t trust that science. Something is up. Personally, I’ll stick with my current routine of doing some sort of exercise once a month. Is it a great plan? No. I admit it is not. However, it’s not putting a pill in me hoping that will fix all my problems. I’m not ready for that, yet. Are you?
As you can see in the video below that’s from 10 years ago, this thought of replacing exercise with a pill is nothing new.

Peep Show: The Best Of Chuck The Freak
Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
