The Rock Band ‘Rolling Stone’ Says Will Likely Reunite Next
With the Oasis reunion of Liam and Noel Gallagher being top of mind in the music world, Rolling Stone has taken it upon themselves to predict the next band reunion.
The outlet gave percentage odds on 17 different acts reuniting, and the rock act they think is the most likely to reunite is The White Stripes with a 60% chance. The duo of Meg and Jack White was both incredibly popular and successful, but the reason for their eventual split seemed to come down to their time together running its course, Meg having anxiety issues while touring and Jack pursuing a myriad of other projects.
Of their odds of a reunion, Rolling Stone noted, “They’re young enough that it seems likely their paths will cross again at some point down the road. Maybe they’ll headline Coachella in 2030.”
There’s also the matter of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to be considered for a reunion. The White Stripes were eligible this year and were on the ballot but failed to get enough votes to be part of the 2024 induction class. However, they will undoubtedly get in eventually.
The act Rolling Stone says is least likely ever to reunite is Pink Floyd, who was given a 1% chance. Considering the bad blood between Roger Waters and David Gilmour (and his wife, Polly Samson), we’d have to agree with that assessment.
