According to data published in The American Journal of Emergency Medicine, there’s been an uptick in emergency room visits stemming from stuff stuck in people’s butts.
According to this medical journal, each year, nearly 4,000 people go to the hospital complaining of some foreign object stuck in their rectums.
That number has risen from 1.2 per 100K people in 2012, to 1.9 per 100K people in 2021.
Of that patients who need to go to the hospital, 78% are male, the average age is 43, and over 50% of the objects inserted are sex toys of some variety.
