It's no secret that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are not fond of one another and have had several back-and-forths over the years. While both were present at the MTV VMAs last week, nothing went down between the two. Nicki hosted the award show for the second year in a row, and then Cardi B performed her latest song, "Bongos" with Megan Thee Stallion. In addition to hosting, Nicki also performed her latest single, "Last Time I Saw You," and some of her throwback hits for the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop tribute.

Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Allegedly Go Back And Forth

However, the beef began when Nicki posted a photo of Michael Jackson on Twitter, according to TikToker @theofficialangelt. While many would assume that the quick post was innocent and it's possible that Nicki was just admiring the late megastar, Cardi B fans began to speculate that Nicki was throwing a subliminal message to the Bronx rapper. Cardi's husband, Offset, is a huge fan of MJ and even has a tattoo of the singer right above his left hip. The couple made headlines recently for Cardi spoke about how the tattoo creeps her out when they're being intimate.

After Nicki posted the MJ photo, she followed up with the tweet, "When I Told You Don't Take The Bait That's What I Meant."

That's when Cardi got a whiff of the tweet and wrote, "I don't speak dog, h--." The Bronx rapper also added that she is a "real life Helga Pataki," Arnold's bully from the Nickelodeon cartoon Hey Arnold!

Nicki followed up by posting a photo of a dollar bill on her Instagram Story. Cardi has a song called "Money" which was released in 2018, and on "Bongos," there's a line that Cardi raps, "Bitch I look like money, you could print my face on a dollar."

Take a look at a TikTok that breaks it down here.
