Tommy Lee Sued for Alleged Sexual Assault
Tommy Lee is facing a new lawsuit accusing the Motley Crue drummer of allegedly sexually assaulting a woman during a helicopter ride in 2003.
In the lawsuit documents obtained by Rolling Stone, the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, says the helicopter ride was a 40-minute trip from San Diego County to Van Nuys, Calif. She was invited on the ride by pilot David Martz, whom she befriended in 2002 when she was a bank teller at the bank where Martz had financial business. Doe thought the helicopter ride was just a sightseeing trip. However, she was notified at the last minute that the ride would be to transport Lee to Van Nuys.
Doe accuses Martz and Lee of drinking, smoking marijuana and snorting cocaine during the flight. After being pressured to sit on Lee’s lap, Doe then accuses Lee of “forcibly groping, kissing and penetrating her with his fingers, and attempting to force her to perform oral copulation.” She noted Martz “merely watched” during the alleged assault.
Doe further notes in her lawsuit that she thought the alleged assault was an isolated incident, so she didn’t report it to police because she thought no one would believe her accusations. However, she had not filed the lawsuit, because she believes Martz and Lee “had a history” of similar incidents.
Since the alleged 2003 sexual assault, Martz died in a Cessna accident in August 2015. Before his death, Martz had a significant history of discipline with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). According to a Los Angeles Times article from Aug. 2015, Martz lost his pilot’s license three times. The third license revocation came in 2009 after having oral sex with an adult film actress while piloting a helicopter.
Neither Lee nor any of his reps have commented on the sexual assault lawsuit.
