Multiple Explosions In Metro Detroit Reportedly Caused By Wholesaler
You might have heard the sounds. Perhaps you saw it first hand, or have already seen videos. It’s now the talk of the town. Last night, multiple explosions were reported in Metro Detroit. A wholesaler building on 15 Mile close to Groesbeck exploded on Monday night, leading to several buildings in the area catching fire.
The explosions began close to 9pm in Clinton Township, Michigan. Now, the public is being advised to avoid the area.
Multiple Explosions Reported In Metro Detroit Caused By Wholesaler
According to Fox 2 Detroit, Select Distributors was the cause of the fire–the company sells nitrogen tanks which exploded rapidly. That makes sense. After seeing the video some sort of gas had to be involved. That type of explosion doesn’t just happen–especially at that intensity.
People even miles away could hear the explosions on Monday night. Some people even reported feeling their house shake in areas like Mount Clemens and Sterling Heights–showing the impact was felt in surrounding areas. Now, there’s concern about air quality issues. There has been debris falling over the surrounding area and people nearby are being told to stay far away and remain in their homes, per Fox 2 Detroit.
The fire started dying down late last night, around 11pm. People in the area took to social media to say what they were experiencing. Some say they thought they heard gun shots, others weren’t sure what was going on. It had to have been a frightening experience.
Even our own Chuck The Freak was “reporting” on what was happening as it was happening. That’s actually how I first heard about it.
Fire seems to be spreading to surrounding brush.
