A McDonald's employee was sentenced to 5 years behind bars for starting a fire when the restaurant got too crowded. You know what they say, "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

When the going gets tough, the tough get going! However, some people will panic when things get busy and that's when bad things can happen. Sure, starting a fire will get the crowd to disperse, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Fast-food chains might be more expensive these days than we're used to, but that doesn't seem to be stopping people from going to the restaurants. Now, they've got value menus and bargain combos to bring in even more people. Well, it looks like their efforts might be working! Fast-food restaurants are as busy and crowded than ever. However, not every fast-food worker is celebrating that. Including this Machine Gun Kelly look-alike who took things a bit too far.

According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Joshua Daryl McGregor, 34, was working at the McDonald's location on Montgomery Ave in Savannah, Georgia when he became frustrated about how busy and crowded the restaurant was. Reports say he lit a piece of cardboard on fire and then threw it in a dumpster outside of the restaurant that was full of other cardboard and flammable materials. FOX 10 Phoenix even reports that McGregor waited and ensured the fire was ignited before going back inside of the chain.

Additionally, FOX 10 Phoenix reports he filmed it all on his cell phone and posted the video on social media. How many times have we said it: don't film your crimes! It's bad enough to commit them, don't film yourself doing them! It'll already be difficult enough to get away with these crimes, filming yourself and posting it definitely won't help. The restaurant did have to close down as the Savannah Fire Department worked on putting out the fire.

Of course, he was caught on surveillance cameras starting the fire outback. He was arrested by Savannah Police and has since pleaded guilty. In addition to the 5-year sentence, a judge also ordered him to pay restitution for property lost in the fire and will serve 3 years of supervised release once he's out of jail, per FOX 10 Phoenix. You can see his mugshot below. He looks like a wannabe Machine Gun Kelly.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
