Thai Woman Wrapped By A Python For Hours Survives To Tell Tale
You don’t want to mess with snakes. They have so many different ways to bring you down. First, they could bite. Even if they aren’t poisonous a snake bite can really hurt. If they are poisonous, that’s a totally different story and even more fatal.
According to Women’s Agenda, 64-year-old Arom Arunroj was bitten multiple times by the snake and then was strangled by the snake that reportedly weighed 20kg and it trapped her for 2 hours before rescuers were able to free her! That’s a lot of problems happening all in one! Arunroj says she was washing dishes inside her home around 8:30pm when she felt a bite on her leg. She tells Thai media that she tried to fight it off but it grabbed her even tighter and continued to squeeze. Thankfully, a neighbor heard her cries for help and was able to call for assistance. Sgt Maj Anusorn Wongmali Anusorn of the police tells Women’s Agenda, “She had probably been strangled for a while, because her skin was pale. It was a python, a big one. I saw a bite mark on her leg but [knew] there might be some elsewhere too.”
Eventually, they were able to get her free from the snake but it sounds like it wasn’t easy! It should be noted that pythons are not venomous but their bites can lead to infections, instead of poison they kill their prey by binding tightly around it and suffocating it. It’s a pretty common occurrence in Thailand. Recently, there was a man bitten on his testicles by a python that was inside of his toilet. A good reason to always check your toilet before sitting down. You never know what’s in there, especially if you’re somewhere like Thailand or Florida. Always smart to check! According to Women’s Agenda, roughly 12,000 people were treated for venomous snake and animal bites in Thailand last year.
