When you think of amazing movie and TV bedrooms what comes to mind? I can name a few that I think about almost daily!
This is like my own version of the “how often do you think about the Roman Empire?” trend. “How often do you think of cool TV bedrooms?” For me, it’s almost every day. There have been some incredibly cool ones seen in movies and on TV. Some of them were live-action and some were cartoons. None of them were real but they certainly made all of us kids jealous back in the day. There’s just something about having a cool bedroom. Maybe it’s the view, maybe it’s the toys, or it could be the size. Many things go into making a bedroom cool and enviable, and these movie and TV bedrooms certainly fit the bill. Before we get to the list, can you think of any off the top of your head? Take a minute and think.
What Are Some Of The Best Movie And TV Bedrooms?
For kids growing up, these amazing TV bedrooms were our pre-introduction to HGTV and all of those home renovation shows. Maybe that’s why we’re so into those shows as adults today? I might be onto something here. One of the exciting things of kid’s shows was seeing their bedrooms. We could play pretend and imagine what it was like living like that. Often, they are so far fetched that they would be impossible to have as our own, but it was great being able to play pretend and dream.
Some of these TV bedrooms and movie bedrooms have stuck with me for a long time. They can be hard to forget about! Why didn’t my bedroom have a window on the ceiling? Could I have had a separate room as my dedicated closet? None of these were possible, but thanks to movies and TV we were able to imagine and see what it would be like if we did have all of those things in our bedroom.
Unfortunately, I capped the list off at only 5. That means a lot of enviable TV bedrooms were left off the list but deserve some praise as Honorable Mentions. One that comes to mind is Denny Byrnes’ bedroom in Meet The Parents. It had roof access that would have made it easy to come and go as you please, there was a dedicated area to sleeping and then a desk and plenty of room for fun. He had cool posters and art on the walls that any rebellious teenager would have loved and respected. Cher had a great bedroom in Clueless but I kind of forgot about it, honestly, so that won’t be on the list. Neither will Mia’s bedroom in The Princess Diaries with its impressive spiral staircase. However, I stand by the bedrooms that did make the list. Some are from Disney, some are from Nickelodeon, and some are from movies. Did any of these bedrooms make you envious as a kid?
