Liam Gallagher Hilariously Rips the Rock Hall
Liam Gallagher has never held back how he felt about literally anything. In light of Oasis being part of the 2024 nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it shouldn’t be surprising he’s being very open about how he feels about the institution.
Gallagher sounded off on the Rock Hall in a new interview with The Sunday Times. He said, in part, “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: Do me a favor and f— off.” (It should be noted that Carey is also a first-time Rock Hall nominee in 2024.)
Gallagher added, “It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed.” He also noted he’s done more for rock than anyone on the Rock Hall board. He punctuated his opinion in the most English way possible by calling the Rock Hall “a load of bollocks.”
Of course, it shouldn’t be surprising that Gallagher said these things to The Sunday Times. Shortly following the news of Oasis being nominated for the Rock Hall, he took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “F— the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS.”
Oh, and if you follow Gallagher on X, you know he uses the term “bumbaclart” a lot. For starters, the term has two different spelling variations, and he’s using neither. Per Dictionary.com, that term can either be spelled “bumbaclot” or “bumboclaat.” The word itself is a slang term with origins in Jamaica. The website states, “It’s an insulting vulgarity that literally refers to either menstrual pads or toilet paper.” It also notes the word is the equivalent to “douchebag” or “motherf—er.”
Who thought reading this story would turn into a Jamaican slang lesson? Certainly not us!
