Wendy’s Clarifies Pending ‘Dynamic Pricing’ Menu

Wendy’s made big news this week…and not for the best of reasons. Remember how we talked about them planning to drop a new Uber-style Surge Pricing menu? Well, now they’re backtracking. Wendy’s is now clarifying what they meant with their pending ‘Dynamic Pricing’ menu.
So, here’s what they’re now saying. I’m not sure if I believe them!
Wendy’s Clarifies Pending ‘Dynamic Pricing’ Menu
Now, the company is saying it will not use Surge Pricing. The company is now saying that the customer won’t end up paying more with the new system, and it will only help them! Sure, Jan.
When the initial news broke, the internet exploded. They were not having it. Even in my own household! We were like “hey, we love Wendy’s. But we also love ourselves! We won’t go through this/” We vowed that would be the end. I would not be the guy waiting in line watching the price of my JBC soar with every added minute. I would lose my mind!
Turns out, I’m not alone. The response to this was so poor that Wendy’s had to issue a statement and backtrack on their alleged plans. Read their statement released in a press release at Wendys.com below!
“Earlier this month we issued our fourth quarter and full year 2023 earnings results and included an update on investments we are making in our digital business. One initiative is digital menuboards, which are being added to U.S. Company-operated restaurants. We said these menuboards would give us more flexibility to change the display of featured items. This was misconstrued in some media reports as an intent to raise prices when demand is highest at our restaurants. We have no plans to do that and would not raise prices when our customers are visiting us most. Any features we may test in the future would be designed to benefit our customers and restaurant crew members. Digital menuboards could allow us to change the menu offerings at different times of day and offer discounts and value offers to our customers more easily, particularly in the slower times of day. Wendy’s has always been about providing high-quality food at a great value, and customers can continue to expect that from our brand.”
Thankfully, I will not be giving up on Wendy’s. I’m back, baby. Like Dave & Chuck The Freak talked about on the show, remember when Wendy’s had the best social media team? What happened to that?

5 Best Fast Food Items On The Value Menu
Today, there are seemingly unlimited options in the fast food landscape. You have options for burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos, and more. Anything you want you can have. When you’re on-the-go and looking for a quick bite, there’s nothing better than the value menu. Every fast food restaurant has one. Here are the best fast food items on the value menu.
We all know that fast food is appealing because of its low price and easy access. With prices for combos on the rise, I find myself looking at the value menu more often than ever before. I need to save where I can!

Best Of The Best
I have spent so much time in drive-thrus that I think I could be considered an expert witness in a court case, at this point. I’ve seen delicious items come and go, prices climb, and experiences all the promos and deals. Why did KFC get rid of the Twister? When will McDonald’s bring back the famous Snack Wraps? These are all questions I ask every day, and sadly have no answers for. However, one day…we will get them back. I truly believe it in my heart of hearts.
I could go on and on about my love for the value menu. I’d say at least once a week I think back on my high school days when the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy’s was only 99 cents. Do you remember that? 99 cents! It was amazing. Now, the price for one JBC is closer to $3 than it is 99 cents. I feel like this is the new version of that old “back in my day, we’d walk 2 miles to school up hill both ways! stories your grandparents would tell. Now, these stories are all about how low the value menu prices were back in our day. “When I was your age, every item on the dollar menu was a dollar!”
After years of research, I’ve finally identified the best of the best when it comes to value menus. On this list, you’ll find burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos, and even some items that fall into the ‘miscellaneous’ category. Without further delay, let’s get to the list!

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
