Did Japan Invent Beer Glasses That Make You Drink Slower?
Did Japan invent beer glasses that make you drink slower? It appears that they did and hopefully you’re ready to drink very slow.
Do you have an issue with drinking your beers too fast? You can’t help but to chug one down if it’s in front of you? Looking for a way to take your time and enjoy the taste of the beer instead of slamming it back? Then this might be for you! It seems like Japan has invented beer glasses that make you drink slower and it’s for real!
Japan Invents Beer Glasses That Make You Drink Slower
I know several people who could really use this! Admittedly, I could even use this! Sometimes it can be frustrating when you finish your beer too quickly and have to get another one and you start racking up a bill. It looks like this could prevent that and keep you at only 1. However, it’s incredibly slow so you better be ready to take your time with the beer (and hopefully you enjoy the taste).
It appears that the shape of the glass slows down the liquid that escapes the glass leaving only a little at a time for you to drink. According to Beer Advocate, it was made by Yo-Ho Brewing which is known for its Yona Yona Ale and is a 350ml hourglass shaped glass that allows you to drink a beer slowly even when it’s fully tilted. Honestly, the glass is pretty cool looking! I could see this taking off and working at some restaurants that want you to be classy and don’t want people chugging beers down at the table. It also might help prevent binge drinking which could be a benefit not only for individuals but the community as well.
As you can see in the video above, it’s hard to get a lot to come out! Only the bit at the top will leave the glass allowing you to enjoy your beer (or beverage of your choosing) without a rush. It sounds like the thought behind the unique glass was to slow down drinking and preventing people from drinking as much in a given time period. While this is really cool and seems to be working in Japan, I just can’t see it working here in the United States as much as I would like to see it. We enjoy our binge drinking here and this would only slow us down and it doesn’t seem like that’s what people are after here. Maybe I’m wrong.
