A man had to be restrained after attacking his seat on a United Airlines flight. The bizarre video is now going viral online.

In the video, you can see the man standing up and repeatedly kicking his seat. These aren’t little nudges either, he’s kicking that seat with some power! It reportedly happened on a United Airlines flight from Austin, Texas to Los Angeles, California. It’s the latest wild viral video from the not-so-friendly skies.

Why Was A Man Kicking His Seat On A United Airlines Flight?

The incident was filmed by passenger Gino Galofaro who claims that he woke up on the flight to see the unidentified man kicking the seat not long before touchdown at LAX in Los Angeles. Oddly, according to The New York Post, nobody really tried to intervene at first! Reports say that a flight attendant walked by a couple of times but nobody was doing anything about it. Finally, it was the passengers who had to take matters into their own hands!

According to The New York Post, Galofaro, a San Diego-based addiction counselor says that him and 2 other passengers zip-tied the unruly passengers hands and feet and seat belted him to his seat. Wow! Why would any of the staff not doing anything about it? Certainly there are rules in place or protocols on what to do during situations like this. We’ve seen people detained for much less. When they landed the disruptive passenger was met by police.

A United Airlines spokesperson tells The New York Post, “Local law enforcement met United flight 502 upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport after a customer became disruptive. We thank our crew for helping address the situation and working to ensure the safety of everyone on board.” The customer has since been banned from future United Airlines flights. The addiction counselor, however, is hoping to get ahold of the unruly passenger’s family to see if there are any ways he can help. What a good dude! Clearly going above and beyond. That’s crazy! If you weren’t scared of flying before you probably are now given the amount of problems that have happened on airplanes and at airports lately.
