If you’re looking to get your calories with one sweet treat then Crumbl’s holiday cookie is for you! It has 1,200 calories and people are saying it shouldn’t be legal! The limited edition Candy Cane Brownie is a chocolate treat smothered in peppermint buttercream and topped with ganache and candy cane bits. It’s now being claimed as the company’s highest calorie item yet. Of course 1,200 calories would be hard to beat! Would all of those calories stop you from eating it?
Crumbl’s Holiday Cookie Has 1,200 Calories
If you break down the math, there are six servings per brownie leaving 180 calories per serving. However, there’s no way you’re breaking this thing up into 6 pieces! There’s no chance you’d be left satisfied after that. Crumbl’s holiday cookie was created in partnership with late show host Jimmy Fallon. He claims it’s the best brownie he’s ever had, but he also appears to be making money off of it so it’s hard to take his word for it. I’m sure it’s good because everything from there seems to be but I’m not taking it from someone getting paid to endorse it! Even if it is the best brownie in the world, is it worth the calories? Well, probably.
The internet seems pretty divided by the treat. Some say it looks delicious and tasty while others say it can’t be worth the calories and nobody needs that many calories in a treat. Many people online can’t help but to state how it’s no wonder the United States has such a high obesity rate with treats like Crumbl’s holiday cookie on the market. According to The New York Post, the brownie also contains 121 grams of sugar and 101 grams of added sugar which is 202% of the average daily intake. There’s also 40 grams of saturated fat. They say adults should consume between 1,600-3,000 calories per day meaning this one brownie would take up a majority of the calories you’re supposed to consume on a daily basis.
That makes people even more skeptical. You could end up having 3-4 meals with that amount of calories! This isn’t the first time Crumbl has been criticized for the nutrition of its products. Dr. Darin Detwiler tells Daily Mail, “Without clear labeling, consumers may underestimate the caloric and nutritional content, which is particularly concerning with oversized portions like those Crumble offers. If these cookies were firearms, they would be illegal.”
