‘First Things First’ Hilariously Teases Nick Wright Over Chiefs Losing Super Bowl
The First Things First team on FS1 might have had the best A-Block in sports TV history yesterday. They teased Nick Wright for the Chiefs losing the Super Bowl.
If you weren’t aware, First Things First is the best sports show currently airing on television and it might be the greatest ever. That’s for you to debate with your friends. Maybe you think it’s First Take, maybe you prefer Around The Horn, or maybe you’re a Pardon The Interruption fan. To each their own. Personally, I am a massive fan of First Things First. There’s nothing else like it. The show blends great sports commentary with hilarious banter. There’s no team out there like Nick Wright, Kevin Wildes, and Chris Broussard. They tease each other and know exactly how to press each other’s buttons. That’s what they did to Nick Wright on Monday. Nick is one of the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fans out there, especially working in media, and they let him have it over and over for the Eagles beating his Chiefs in the Super Bowl. It was one thing after another and it created several laugh out loud moments. Check out some of the highlights below.
First Things First Relentlessly Trolls Nick Wright Over Super Bowl
I think that was one of the best episodes of First Things First ever and really highlights the special relationship between all of the hosts. No other show could have pulled this off like they did. A host would have gotten their ego hurt and shut it down after one prank. Instead, they kept it going. One thing after another. They had the confetti cannons, singers, trumpeters, and even the famous break-dancers made a return! I truly couldn’t stop laughing. I feel like it would be funny for anyone watching, but for those who are P1s and really know the show and are fans it was everything you could have asked for. So many great references to previous shows and their antics, it was amazing.
Nick Wright, by the way, is a huge Chiefs fan. I need to make that clear. He’s always confident in them, “Never A Doubt,” and is never afraid to make a bold claim when it comes to his team. I respect it, but it’s also great to see him be such a good sport in defeat. When they win, he’s cocky and unabashed…and deservingly so! They are a dynasty. Patrick Mahomes is already one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time and a win in that game would have significantly added to that legacy. It was refreshing to see him take the defeat so well. You have to do that! If you’re going to go all-out when you win, you better keep that same energy when you lose and he did.
It was a fantastic episode of the best sports show on TV. If you’re not watching it daily now is a great time to start and that clip above shows exactly why.
