The popular Chubby Filter on TikTok is the latest thing that has the internet divided. Is it fun? Or is it fat shaming?

That seems to be the ongoing debate with the Chubby Filter on TikTok. Basically, the CapCut filter will show what you would look like if you were chubby. It can be funny to see how different you would look, at least to some. Others aren’t seeing the humor in it and are instead accusing it of being fat shaming because you’re finding the way you would appear if you were chubby to be amusing and comical–which can be hurtful. Now, the internet can’t seem to agree on whether or not the filter is offensive. What do you think? Check out an example below.

Viral ‘Chubby Filter’ On TikTok Causing Controversy

As you can see by the comments on the video, a lot of people do not like this trend. Many point out that it gives “bully vibes” and that it’s inappropriate. Others defend it saying they’re just seeing how they would look and that complainers are being too sensitive. Both could be right! It depends on how you’re watching it and what the caption says. There are many weird filters out there that could be considered offensive. You can see how you’d look if you were old, bald, blonde, and more!
