More Than 100 New Emojis Are On The Way Including New Foods And Animals
A picture says 1,000 words. Thankfully, that means using emojis can save us from a lot of typing. Now, communicating is about to be even easier as more than 100 new emojis are on the way for iPhone!
iPhone will be rolling out 118 new emojis in the near future. The colorful icons are currently only available to iPhone developers, but the public is expected to have them on our phones in March.

According to CNET, some of the new emojis coming out include a phoenix, brown mushroom, lime, and a broken chain. All of those could be useful to have in our digital arsenal. Additionally, they aren’t just introducing new emojis but will be creating variations of emojis that already exist. That means different skin tones, different directions or angles, and more. Some of these updates include people walking, running, kneeling, using wheelchairs, and using canes, per CNET. They’ll also be rolling out four new gender-neutral family group emojis.
However, we’re going to have to be patient. While we’re learning what we can expect in this new update, it’s not happening immediately. Emojipedia estimates that they will be available on our phones in early 2024. Again, this is specifically for the iPhone. The new additions on Android smartphones are expected to be slightly different than the iPhone icons.
As emojis get more complicated and inclusive, we’re learning more about how we use them. According to Emojipedia, the three most-used emoji in 2023 were the crying laughing face, the rolling laughing face, and the simple red heart. From my experience with emoji, that adds up. I imagine the eye roll face has to be up there near the top five, as well. That’s a go-to for me and my most-used emoji. Personally, I’d like to see a double gun emoji. One of those cute faces hitting you with the proverbial double guns would be awesome. Although, I guess I’ll have to wait.
