How Long Did One Man Go Without Pooping?
What’s the longest you’ve gone without pooping? Maybe a full day? A couple of days? If you go any longer than that you’re certain to face a little bit of discomfort. Well, that amount of time doesn’t hold a candle to how long one man went.
One man went a full three months without pooping, according to Daily Mail! That cannot be healthy. Check out what he had to go through below!
Man Goes Three Months Without Pooping
Daily Mail reports that doctors said his bloat from the lack of bowel movements was so extreme that his abdomen actually resembled that of a woman who is carrying triplets! That’s a big poop! It reminds me of the South Park episode where they find out Bono from U2 isn’t the record holder for the biggest poop in the world, but actually is, himself, the record. It’s one of the best episodes of my favorite show.
The unique case was shared in an online form by workers in the healthcare field. His case was reportedly described as being so extreme that waste inside his colon had become hardened and stuck–known as fecal impactation. In order to remove that, you need to remove the mass manually or through an enema.
The case was shared on Reddit and a CT scan of his colon shows how intense the problem really is. Commenters were quick to feel the man’s pain sharing how long they went without pooping and how it compares to what he must have been going through. Symptoms of fecal impactation can include pain in the abdomen, swelling, feeling the need to poop but not being able to, and a stomach ache. Daily Mail says it’s common in older adults and in nursing home where half of people will experience the illness.
According to Daily Mail, people will typically poop one to three times per day on average. That makes sense when you take my four times a day and then add in his zero, it averages out. Check out some videos talking about this incredibly unique case below!
