How Did Officers Instantly Know This Drunk Driver Had A Fake I.D.?
There are many ways to spot a fake I.D. It could be made from a different material, it could shine differently in the light, or there could be a blatant false fact on the fake I.D. Well, that’s what happened to one guy in Iowa.
If you’re going to use a fake I.D. it’s probably best to use one that fits your description. That means you don’t want yours to say you stand 8 feet tall. That’s pretty obvious to prove wrong and will instantly point your I.D. out as a fake. Here’s more on this trending story.
Fake I.D. Said Man Was 8 Feet Tall
I feel like it would be pretty noticeable to any officer if they had just pulled over what would be one of the tallest people on earth. That’s easy to verify with the naked eye and you don’t want to be in that situation. Unfortunately, that’s what Joel Solorzano Villeda’s fake I.D. read, according to The Smoking Gun.
A criminal complaint says that Villeda was pulled over for driving erratically on an Iowa road in Rock Rapids and then provided officers with an I.D. that stated he stood 8 feet tall. Clearly, that was not the case.
During the stop, Villeda showed several signs of being intoxicated, had an open can of beer in his vehicle, and possessed methamphetamine, per The Smoking Gun. His breath test revealed his B.A.C. was over the legal limit. That’s when he reportedly handed over his Minnesota I.D. claiming he was 8 feet tall. It’s hard to pass for 8 feet when you only stand 5’8″, per The Smoking Gun.
Villeda was arrested on several charges including narcotics possession, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and providing officers with false identification. He has a hearing later in May. You can check out his mugshot below.
