We sincerely hope undercover operatives don’t have to put their ‘lips on it’ during stings.
If you have listened to the show for a while, you have most certainly heard us discuss pickle parks. We have even covered them in the Peep Show before…Shocked at the Pickle Park. These are public spaces where primarily men meet up to engage in lewd behavior. We also know that the police sometimes send undercover officers in to bust up places like this as well.
According to a report from WTSP News, a 67-year-old man named Pablo Coronado was arrested after offering and/or agreeing to committing a lewd act with an undercover officer at Saddle Creek Park. The man admitted that he frequented the park looking to engage in this sort of behavior and has received a 10-year trespass ban at all parks in the area, according to reports.
So, let’s set the ‘Dave and Chuck the Freak’ stage on how this all might have played out. Dave tasks Andy with portraying a police officer who has to spend the day attempting to catch perverts in the park. Chuck takes on the role of the creepy men who might be soliciting this type of activity. At one point, Andy says he’d rather go to back to directing traffic than do this job!
Then, we wonder how far an undercover detective would have to go in order to nab his suspect. We have heard in prostitution stings that once the money is shown, it’s usually a wrap. But, in regards to this type of bust, we weren’t sure. This is when Chuck makes the joke that the detective would have to wait until he “put his lips on it!”. A horrifying thought and get some insider information that the proposition is usually all it takes!
