You’d Want Your Doctor To Hear You Screaming During a Colonoscopy
Do not let this story deter you from getting your colonoscopies everyone! This is a very rare case. Something we have actually never heard of before and it’s important to get checked.
Now, to Dave and Chuck business. According to reports from FOX13 in Tampa Bay, a Tampa gastroenterologist has been placed on probation after a wild claim. A man who was receiving a colonoscopy claims that he was not fully sedated and began screaming while the tube was being inserted. The doctor however was unable to hear him because he was not wearing his hearing aids.
We find this to be horrifying! We try to imagine what that would be like and with Dave being the only one on the show who has had a colonoscopy, he says he can’t imagine. We were discussing the sedation process, if you would feel anything and what it must feel like.
Then, Jason’s brother, who is a practicing gastroenterologist and happened to be listening to the segment, texted him with some information. Most notably, that some people choose to be awake during their colonoscopies.
The topic of being put under anesthesia is discussed with Andy sharing his experience. Dave also has been put under and if you haven’t heard, he loved the experience and the propofol that was used to sedate him.
Lastly, there was a text from listener about a person who had an orgasm during their procedure. Dave jokes that is actually Chuck’s number one fear about getting his colonoscopy done.
