“Claude the Claw” has people talking both in New York City and outside. Chicken sandwiches remain all the rage with every fast-food joint and restaurant chain competing for the best in the game. Would You Try A New York City Chicken Sandwich With A Claw Still On?
I can’t lie, this chicken sandwich looks delicious. It looks like it’s perfectly fried with some nice green garnish and I can tell just from the picture that it tastes fantastic. Of course, I’d have to eat around the dangling claw but it wouldn’t prevent me from eating the sandwich.
Jack Goldburg is an Instagram Influencer with 1.2 million followers and he tried the sandwich and asked his followers, “When do you ever see a chicken sandwich with the entire leg attached to it?” It’s an incredibly rare thing. You never see it. The popular restaurant, Birdbox, is a takeout sandwich shop that’s just steps away from Times Square. It’s so small you might miss it, and if you do you’ll surely regret not going inside. According to Fox News, the restaurant first opened in July and is led by Chef Chris Bleidorn and partner Aarti Shetty, who are the duo behind the Michelin-rated San Francisco restaurant, Birdsong.
Of course, Claude the Claw is the signature item at their NYC shop. The chicken sandwich reportedly is filled with an entire quarter chicken but the most unique part is that the leg is still attached. People are sharing pictures of this all the time on social media. I’m seeing it on my feed constantly. It seems like anyone I know who visits New York City makes sure to stop at Birdbox. People seem to be raving about it! Not just the way it looks, but the taste as well (which I guess is pretty important). It’s great that it’s both interesting to look at and tastes good. You’d hate for it to just be a gimmick that looks cool but tastes awful. It seems to be the real deal!
Goldburg knows a thing or 2 about food and he says that Claude the Claw might be in his top 2 favorite chicken sandwiches of all-time! Have you had a chance to try it yet? What did you think? If you haven’t, would you be willing to try it or is the leg too much for you?
