Massachusetts Man Has Very Long Thumbs
25-year-old Jacob Pina is taking the internet by storm with his long thumbs and people seem to be giving it 2 thumbs up. According to Mirror, the average person has thumbs that measure roughly 2.74 inches making them the second-shortest finger on the hand after the little pinky finger. However, Pina has thumbs that reportedly measure the same size but he can then stretch them to nearly double their length–an unbelievable 5 inches!
It sounds like he was initially confused and didn’t understand why he had such unusually long thumbs but now he’s come to appreciate his unique quirk. He has been showcasing his talents online and that’s led to people claiming that he would never lose a thumb war and needs to find a professional tournament because he would absolutely win. Mirror says he discovered this previously unknown talent while in his teenage years and even sought medical advice who were able to confirm that it wasn’t linked to any underlying health condition. That’s good! Good to get it checked because you never know.
He now has more than 2.8 million followers on TikTok who like to see his impressive growth. He often posts videos of him extending his thumb or running it under tap water and growing it as well as comparisons to normal-sized thumbs. According to Mirror, Jacob says, “My thumbs are large on both hands, but my right hand is just my dominant hand, so I just show it more. Also, my thumb on my right hand is very slightly longer. I discovered it in freshman year in high school and it was an inside joke until I posted about it. People have said many things, with some inappropriate, but usually, it’s things like ‘I bet you’ve never lost a thumb war’ or ‘that’s the best thumbs up I’ve ever seen.’ I’ll never feel self-conscious about my thumb. Never have, never will.” That’s good! Embrace it! Make money off it! Do whatever you can. More than 2 million followers is no joke so he best be capitalizing on it.
