Steve Buscemi Sucker-Punched In New York City
Steve Buscemi is the latest celebrity to be sucker-punched in New York City. Thankfully, the actor is doing okay and was treated for swelling on his face and left eye.
Unfortunately, his attacker is still at large! This continues to happen across New York City as it’s recently happened to Rick Moranis and Bethenney Frankel, as well! Here’s more on the trending story.
Steve Buscemi Recovering After Being Sucker-Punched In NYC
It seems like Steve Buscemi is not as feared along the East Coast as his character was on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. The actor is from Brooklyn, so it happened right in his backyard!
According to The New York Post, Buscemi was strolling through Kips Bay when the attacker walked up and hit him in the face in broad-daylight! It was 11:48 am, according to reports! These assailants are getting bold!
The actor’s publicist tells the New York Post, “Steve Buscemi was assaulted in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city. He is ok and appreciates everyone’s well wishes, though incredibly sad for everyone that this has happened to while also walking the streets of New York.”
This is scary! Hearing it happen at 2 am would be more expected and common. However, it wasn’t even noon! He was treated for his injuries at Bellevue Hospital, and the attacker took off after the sucker-punch and still has not been caught.
A witness of the crime tells the New York Post, “I saw he was with a woman, and then through the corner of the window I saw him trip and fall backwards. He right away got up and ran in the opposite direction. I didn’t see who hit him. It worries me for when we close because we close at 11 and it can get scary around that time.”
NYPD released surveillance photos of the alleged attacker who is seen as a bearded man wearing a baseball hat, a blue shirt, and black sweatpants. He looks like an ordinary citizen! Nothing about his appearance would make you think “this guy is going to attack me.”
