Sometimes, a cup of coffee just doesn’t cut it. So, we look for something else to get our boost. Now, doctors are issuing a warning about a new trend.
People looking for that extra energy are now turning to caffeine. Well, haven’t they always? I’ll correct myself. People looking for that extra energy are now turning to snorting caffeine.
Doctors Are Issuing A Warning About This Caffeine New Trend
People are saying snorting caffeine is like snorting cocaine, minus all the bad side effects. According to The New York Post, a man who does this says, “The biggest thing for me is that it doesn’t affect my sleep as much as drinking caffeine. The novelty of snorting is really groovy. Thirteen-year-old me would be going nuts.”
He’s referring to the product that’s now available on Amazon called Want A Bump? The now popular product launched in the summer of 2023, and has been struggling to keep up with demand.
Want A Bump? appears to really be leaning into the whole play on cocaine thing. They even sell fake rolled money to assist with consumption of the caffeine powder, according to the New York Post.
The product is focusing on digital as a mean of getting the word out. It even has an Influencer Promotional Program looking for people to take and promote the product online.

What Are Doctors Saying?
However, medical professionals do not share their enthusiasm. According to The New York Post, Dr. Shaline Rao points out that caffeine in food or drinks is slower to absorb and it’s important to keep track of how much you’ve consumed.
Dr. Rao told the New York Post, “note the upper limit of uses, to avoid overdose, and [allow] appropriate time between does.” She also warns that snorting can still cause damage to the nasal passages, just like cocaine would. So, thinking there’s no negative side effects is not true.
There is one thing medical professionals and supports can agree with. It looks super sketchy to do. There’s no way of avoiding that, regardless of the product itself.
