Man Claims Jesus Gave Him Permission To Trespass

Sometimes, you can have permission to do things others aren’t allowed to do. Maybe you have written permission to be in the hallway by a teacher. Perhaps your doctors wants you to stay home from work for a week. Or, maybe a higher power gave you permission to commit a crime. Well, that’s what happened to the man who claims Jesus gave him permission to trespass.
Carnel Gittens was arrested for trespassing on the grounds of an Ohio library. When he was caught, he told police that “a higher power allowed him” to trespass on the grounds just after 1am, according to The Smoking Gun.
Man Claims Jesus Gave Him Permission To Trespass
According to a police report, Gittens claims he “checked with Christ” before trespassing. However, police weren’t buying it, believe it or not. He was reportedly arrested outside of a library in Sandusky, Ohio. Sandusky is about an hour east of Cleveland. It’s best known for being the home of Cedar Point…or Callahan Auto. Depending on who you ask.
Turns out, it’s not his first time trespassing at that location. He had previously been busted two other times for trespassing there. According to The Smoking Gun, after being arrested in 2023, he told police he was, “from Canada and he has been wandering Ohio for the past year.”
They reached out to Jesus for a comment, but he was now unavailable. He did not return a request for a comment. If you’re going to need an alibi, make sure its one who will pick up when police need them to verify your story. That could have potentially saved Mr. Gittens from a lot of trouble. Maybe next time he’ll be there to answer the call. He’s a busy guy, I hear.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He was named Clarkston High School 2009 Class Clown 13 years after graduating. Totally normal thing to happen. That’s thanks to his time spent as an Intern at Comedy Central and Social Media Correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy across the country, both standing up and sitting down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on-air and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also totally uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So, basically anything and everything.
