Man Accused of Making Bomb Threat Because He Couldn’t Log into Payroll Application
Technology is Frustrating but You Can’t Make a Bomb Threat
Technology issues can test the very fiber of our being. We all know the frustration of not being able to log into your applications or computers, especially when it comes to pay day. Most of us handle it in a relatively “normal” fashion, cursing the heavens or contacting customer service. For a guy in the Tampa Bay, FL area, he took it to a whole different level.
According to FOX 13 News, a 48-year-old Clearwater man was arrested after making a bomb threat while in the parking lot of Dunedin City Hall. Fox 13 News says, the man, Jerome Lee Chambers, was upset because he was unable to log into his employee’s payroll application. Allegedly, he was upset and told people he would blow them up. He walked to his car and grabbed a duffle bag. There were no explosives found and Chambers denied making the threat. FOX 13 News reports, he was arrested, charged and transported to jail.
I mean, when you expect to be paid, you want to be paid. And, having technological issues affect you getting your money, it can be upsetting. It’s obviously never okay to make a bomb threat. That’s just outrageous. The guy could have done a lot of things differently in this situation. One decision can really affect your entire life.
You’ve heard us complain about our technology here at the station. Dave’s computer typing backwards, getting locked out, and more. No bomb threats made. Yes, we’ve been angry and upset, screamed and whined, but you get through it and move it. It has made from some pretty hilarious segments on the show whenever Dave’s computer crashes out on us. I mean, he was broadcasting from home for sometime this year and we completely lost him live on the air!
Stay safe out there!
