A Canadian Councillor Freaked Out During A Zoom Budget Meeting
As you may or may not know, the show has ties to Canada. We even have a featured segment called, “Those Crazy Canadians”. One Canadian Councillor certainly was acting crazy during a budget meeting in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He went off on a bunch of people during the zoom meeting and it was all recorded for our enjoyment.
There is video of a zoom budget meeting for Sarnia, Ontario, Canada that was posted to the Sarnia Journal News YouTube page. During the meeting, one of the Councillors gets extremely angry and begins to rip into some of the other participants. He tells them to kiss his ass, refers to one as a “drunken coke head”, and another as a “fruitcake”. Eventually, the meeting takes a 10-minute break, but not before this Canadian Councillor unleashed quite the rant.
We have many takeaways. First, why did they let him go on for so long before ending the meeting? But more importantly, why do they refer to the Mayor as “your worship”? It turns out that phrase has been used for a very long time to refer to the Mayor but as Americans, we couldn’t believe it.
Andy kept asking why? Why are they using some ‘Star Wars’ kind of terminology to refer to someone who is the Mayor of a city. And then, he mentions some other strange things about Canadian life that he has been shocked by. First, that they still wear wigs during their Supreme Court meetings. And second, that he learned from Dave and Chuck that their milk is sold in bags. Not to mention, the currency being known as “looneys and tooneys” is always a funny one.
As I said before, this was definitely a ‘crazy canadians’ moment and we found it to be hilarious. We hope you enjoy as well!
