Test Drive Gone Wrong: Driver Jumps Into Florida Canal To Evade Cops

This is an example of a test drive gone wrong, as a driver ends up jumping into a Florida canal to evade the cops! It was a crazy scene!

You never know what could be lurking in a lake when you’re in Florida. So, she was risking more than trouble with law enforcement when she took the plunge. Here’s more on the test drive gone wrong out of Miami, Florida!

Test Drive Gone Wrong

According to FOX 35 Orlando, Melina Logan, of North Carolina, is facing several charges including grand theft, aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting an officer without violence, and leaving the scene of a crash involving an injury. That’s quite the list! However, it fits the story!

The incident started at Honda of South Miami on May 9th when Logan allegedly wanted to test drive a new 2024 Honda Civic, per FOX 35 Orlando. Police say Logan waited for the salesperson to leave the car and when they did she took off!

A little while later, they located Logan in the stolen car and tried to conduct a traffic stop. However, she continued to drive recklessly at high speeds, allegedly reaching 90 miles per hour. It all came to an end when there was standstill traffic on an exit ramp where she collided with three other vehicles and broke the car down, per FOX 35 Orlando. That’s when she opened the passenger side door and jumped over the barrier and into some nearby water.

In the end, officers had to jump into the water to take her into custody. At least one person was injured during the crash.
